چکیده
Abstract A comparative analysis on source rock properties has been carried out the Miocene-Pliocene formations as well Quaternary terrace deposits using Rock–Eval pyrolysis results and organic petrography some biomarkers results. Samples were obtained from outcrops of deposits, Pliocene-aged Liang Formation together with Miocene Miri Setap Shale in Brunei-Muara district, sample lithologies ranging coal, coaly shale, shale lignitic sand. High total carbon (TOC) S 2 values 41.8 to 62.4% 7.40 mg HC/g 122 rock, respectively, are identified coals deposit, formations, making these best potential due “good excellent” generating potential. Meanwhile, a “fair poor” is exhibited for sand samples result their low TOC, HI values. The matter composed kerogen type III (gas prone) II-III (mixed oil gas prone). Organic all studied originate terrestrial-source, proven by abundance huminite. petrographical studies suggest that deposited mangrove-type mire lower delta setting, under oxic limnic limnotelmatic conditions, except DD2-1, which less water-saturated environment. display presence bi-modal normal distribution n -alkanes. Brunei Darussalam Characteristics of selected petroleums and source rocks
The development of three Tertiary deltaic complexes has resulted in the deposition of up to 10 km of sandstones and shales comprising the sources and reservoirs for crude oils that occur onshore, near-oshore and, with future exploration eorts, those likely to be encountered in deepwater reservoirs north of the Brunei coastline. We examined a series of oshore oils and onshore rock samples in ...

INTRODUCTION Tuberculosis peritonitis (TBP) is uncommon and symptoms can be non-specific. Local data are lacking and our aim is to review our local experience with TBP. MATERIALS AND METHODS Between the period of 1996 to 2004, there were 10 [male: 6; mean age, 48 +/- 18.5 years (range, 26 to 73)] cases of histologically documented TBP. Comparisons were made with pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) p...

One thousand consecutive Brunei Darussalam patients referred with low Hb, and/or low MCV and MCH (Hb < 12.5g/dl, MCV < 76fl, MCH < 27pg) were studied in the laboratory for underlying haemoglobinopathies. 30.0% of such patients were proved to have either beta-thalassaemia trait, beta-thalassaemia major, Hb AE, Hb EE, Hb E beta-thalassaemia or Hb H disease. In some, the haemoglobin abnormality wa...
